The KINGPIN SK8ER is a high-quality coffee distribution tool made from solid blocks of aluminium and recycled skateboard decks. Besides doing our bit for the environment, we love the look and feel of the skateboard deck design. Twenty layers of recycled skateboard decks are pressed together and then sawn, lathed, polished and varnished to create each individual piece. It is a labor of love and it is something that will give you years of service.
The KINGPIN SK8ER represents the latest innovation in coffee distribution technology. We designed the KINGPIN SK8ER to easily and quickly perform the Weiss Distribution Technique (WDT). Utilising 9 adjustable micro-feather needles, the KINGPIN SK8ER will fluff and even out coffee clumps in your portafilter.
Place the KINGPIN SK8ER on your portafilter and give it a few spins. That is it, your puck is now ready to tamp. We have tested many different coffee distributors and found that the KINGPIN to be effective in minimising channeling.
We use computer to model the placement of the 9 micro needles so that as they spin, they will reach every part of the portafilter. Depending on the depth of your portafilter you can adjust the length of the needles. The needles pick up very little coffee powder and cleaning them is a breeze. Just place the KINGPIN SK8ER back on the included stand/brush and give it a gentle twist and it is ready for your next cuppa.
